What is therapy?

Therapy addresses psychological issues and emotions that may be conscious or unconscious in nature. Sometimes, long standing blockages (anxiety, depression, low self-esteem) are impeding our growth and capacity for love, intimacy, calm, and joy.  Therapy addresses these old patterns or belief systems and brings them into awareness.  Much of the healing comes from internal/emotional shifts in perspective, once identified,   are then able to positively effect behavioral shifts.

Will my sessions be confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is a key component of the counseling relationship, allowing you a safe place to work through personal issues. Your right to confidentiality will be carefully maintained and will not be disclosed without your written permission, except in cases of possible harm to yourself or others (especially children or the elderly) or a criminal court subpoena. Please note that in couples counseling I do not agree to keep secrets. Information revealed in any context may be discussed with either partner.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled session time. You will be responsible for the full fee and charged for the time reserved when cancellations are received less than 24 hours in advance.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of- network provider. You may be eligible for reimbursement, depending on your coverage. Please check with your health care provider to see if you are covered for out-of- network mental health coverage. The questions to ask your provider are:

  1. Do I have out-of- network mental health coverage?

  2. Do I need pre-approval or pre-authorization?

  3. At what rate will I be reimbursed?

  4. Is there a deductible?


Payment Information

Payment is due at the beginning of each service.  Cash, credit card, or checks are accepted.

How do I set up an appointment?

There are several ways to schedule an appointment, so you can choose the option that’s easiest for you. You can reach me at 201.694.9657. I do my best to answer phone calls, but if you get my voicemail that means I’m either in session or simply away from the phone. Please feel free to leave a message on my confidential voicemail, and I will return your call as soon as possible.
