Immigration Clinical Assessments
A clinical assessment is an important part of your immigration application.
Clinical Assessments are helpful in extreme hardship cases. When an individual faces deportation, this can potentially cause extreme psychological, emotional and other hardship for family members. When extreme hardship is uncovered via a psychological report, cancellation of deportation may be obtained, if the report contains information documenting exceptional and extremely unusual hardship for the qualifying U.S. spouse, family, or relative. The clinical evaluation is a valuable tool an immigration attorney can use to get your hardship waiver. If sufficient evidence indicates that hardship would be suffered upon deportation, you have a stronger chance to get your waiver granted.
How do we start the process?
You will be required to attend three 60 minute therapy sessions where you will be providing detailed information about your history that includes family history, education history, occupational history, financial history, medical history, trauma history, relationship history, psychiatric history, country conditions, etc.
After the third session, I provide a comprehensive, written report that will be generated within 2 to 3 weeks outlining important background information, current stressors and functioning, clinical conclusions and recommendations to support and strengthen your immigration waiver case.
“Connection is the energy that is created between people when they are seen, heard, and valued—when they can give and receive without judgement.”

Group Counseling for Adolescents and Adults
Learn and implement coping skills that result in reducing anxiety, worry and improve daily functioning.
Counseling Groups will be meeting weekly using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Methods. This is a process group that will address issues that are impacting the adolescent and young adult population today. Group members will also learn and be able to implement coping skills that result in reducing anxiety, worry and improve daily functioning.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based treatment that focuses on the way people think and act. The concept behind CBT is that our thoughts about a situation affect how we feel and how we behave in that situation. If we consistently apply negative meanings to events, then we are likely to experience problems with anxiety and depression. CBT creates an awareness of negative thought patterns, teaches how to change these negative patterns, and aims to teach you effective coping strategies for dealing with problems. CBT is an effective treatment for a wide range of problems such as depression, anxiety, anger, and low self esteem.
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy is a unique and effective therapy that incorporates cognitive behavioral techniques and provides coping skills to manage intense emotions, and stress. It is a therapy approach that incorporates elements of mindfulness practice and acceptance. Its main goals are to teach four life skills that teach people how to live in the moment, cope healthy with stress, regulate emotions and improve relationships with others.
Separate counseling groups for adolescents and adults will take place throughout the year. Groups are run by Nyree and Christine.
